What a wonderful weekend!! After almost a year in planning the time had finally arrived for The Crossing's 1st Flower Festival. The weekend of hard work for our flower arrangers began early Thursday morning with a 6am trip to the Sheffield Flower Market, returning with a brilliant array of exotic and colourful blooms that filled The Crossing with their many and varied fragrances throughout the weekend. On Friday morning 'Our Changing World' became a reality as displays were created to depict inspirational ideas on this theme. Throughout the weekend a continuous stream of people visited The Crossing who were amazed and thrilled at the beauty of the flowers and the interesting items on show on the displays. Saturday Evening's concert was a huge success and was enjoyed by both the audience and participants. The concert raised £1,020 for the work of Christian Aid and The Salvation Army. Other monies raised were over £730 for The Crossing Church funds. To all the flower arrangers (led by Anne Coates) we show our sincere thanks for all your hard work and talents which brought joy and pleasure to so many people. A big thank you must go out to all our sponsors without which, the event would not have been possible to get off the ground. Thank you to all the other people who helped and gave up their time throughout the weekend in so many different ways by stewarding, administration, manning the stalls, helping with displays, furniture removing and refreshments..jpg)
